Product introduction
At present, the sensors on the market must be closely monitored by the shell of the liquid container (non-metal), and the sensitivity and accuracy are not high, which is particularly easy to cause misjudgment, such as when there is a liquid to be monitored, or when there is no liquid, there will be a false alarm, let alone a certain distance from the air to be suspended for monitoring.
The high sensitivity and high precision electronic liquid level sensor (hereinafter referred to as the "liquid level sensor") independently developed by the research and development team of Sepstar has perfectly overcome the problems of sensitivity, accuracy, harsh use environment and so on. The high sensitivity and highly stable and reliable performance of the level sensor ensures that the monitored product operates within a controllable range, ensuring the safety of its main equipment and users as well as the environment.
Development background
Sepstar is a global supplier to Electrolux, which is one of the world's top 500 home appliance manufacturers.
In 2014, Electrolux launched and marketed a star product worldwide - high-end steam ovens. The steam water tank system was manufactured and assembled by Sepstar, where the level sensor was developed and supplied by a local German company previously appointed by Electrolux.
Due to the harsh environment and technical limitations, the accuracy of the sensor has not been able to meet the application requirements of high-end steam ovens. In the process of IQC and PQC produced by the steam water tank system, the pass rate of the sensor has been less than 50%, and the market repair rate of the steam oven due to sensor problems is also relatively high.
After three years of this situation, in 2017, Electrolux made up its mind and first proposed to invite Sepstar team to develop a new level sensor for it, in order to replace the existing sensors and solve the real quality problems and difficulties.
Development process
Under the full support and guidance of the leadership of Sepstar, and in the expectation of customer Electrolux, Sepstar R & D team began the development of high-sensitivity and high-precision electronic liquid level sensors.
Through continuous research, the team found that the installation condition of the steam oven, the main control board of the steam oven, the structure of the steam water tank, the power supply system, the sensor assembly method, the water conductivity, the water shaking and other external factors, as well as the layout of the sensor, the selection of components and many other factors will affect the trigger effect of the sensor.
Through a large number of experiments, continuous adjustment and optimization, finally determined the level sensor design scheme that can meet the harsh actual use environment.
Project outcome
Relying on the research and development team's mastery of the structure and principle of the water tank, with the solid theoretical foundation of the research and development team and decades of research and development experience, although the process is difficult and difficult, finally successfully developed an excellent liquid level sensor that fully meets the needs of customers, and applied for and obtained the patent in 2018 (patent number: ZL 2018 2 0867414.8).
In view of the previous experience and lessons learned, Electrolux very carefully through long-term and multi-batch internal testing, field verification, market feedback and other multi-dimensional and multi-angle testing, and finally in 2021, fully accepted and adopted the new level sensor we developed, completely replacing the original product.
At this point, our self-developed level sensor with Sepstar LOGO accompanied by the steam water tank system, on an international ocean freighter, across the ocean to the other side of the Electrolux German factory steam oven assembly line, but also with the high-end steam oven into the kitchen of thousands of households around the world.
For more than two years of mass production, in the production line of steam water tank system of Sepstar, this type of liquid level sensor has achieved zero defects; In the Electrolux market client, there are no complaints and repair cases caused by the level sensor problem.
